After losing in the semi-finals, the reigning world champions, Spain W, will face Germany W in the match for the bronze medal at the Olympic Games in France.

Although this year's Olympics marked Spain's debut, they were strong contenders for the gold medal. Although Spain W won all three group-stage games and played some of the most attractive football in the tournament, there was a sense that something was off with them. That culminated in the knockout phase, when they escaped elimination from Colombia after scoring two late goals, forcing extra time, and eventually winning on penalties. Even though they are playing pretty football, it seems that teams found a recipe for how to defend against Spain W.

Germany W, on the other hand, may not play the prettiest football, but their focus on defense has been effective. Their only loss in the regular time was against USA W in the group stage. In the Semi-Finals, against USA W, we saw a really close match where they deserved a draw.

Additionally, Spain's morale might be shaken, as they were seen as potential finalists, while Germany W, being underdogs against USA W, would likely be satisfied with a bronze.

Traditionally, Spain had absolutely no success against Germany W. Germany W won three times in their six h2h games, and three times were draws. Considering all the above, we expect Germany W to hold its own and at least secure a draw in the regular time.
